Uganda: Entebbe Airport Gets Fire Fighting Truck
The civil Aviation Authority has received a fire fighting truck worth $278,000 (about sh489m) ahead of the Commonwealth summit on November 23.
Zeev Shiff, the managing director of Balton, handed over the truck to the aviation authority chief, Ambrose Akandoda, on Wednesday.
According to Akandoda, the truck will supplement the other four in case of a fire outbreak at the airport.
“We had some fire fighting trucks but we had to ensure that we are adequately equipped as part of our preparation for CHOGM.”
He said the trucks have a capacity of 11,000 litres of water and can sprinkle water from a distance of 60 metres. Akandoda challenged the fire fighting team to use the equipment effectively.
