posted in trailers, truck |

A hit-and-run crash involving an oversize load trailer ripped utility poles from the ground and tore down a fiber-optic cable Tuesday on U.S. 131 in Fabius Township.

According to Michigan State Police in White Pigeon, the incident occurred at Tuesday at the intersection of North Main Street and U.S. 131. Police said an oversize load truck carrying two large, brown containers on a trailer was headed north on U.S. 131 and came in contact with a fiber optic cable that runs across U.S. 131.

Two utility poles were ripped out of the ground and the fiber optic cable was torn down.

The truck continued north and did not stop, police said.

The cable got entangled with a southbound vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was not injured, police said.
