Truck overturns into ditch

posted in vehicle |

An 18-wheeler driven by Brent Williams, 31, of Victoria overturned into a ditch at Monday, said Department of Safety Trooper Steven Stanfield.

Police reports indicate Williams was driving north along FM 524 when he swerved to avoid something in the roadway. He overcorrected and the truck spun around and came to rest facing south in the ditch along the road, Stanfield said.

Williams was not injured and no citations had been issued.

The truck came to rest on its passenger-side wheels, propped up by several trees and a power line near the ditch.

Sweeny Fire and Rescue workers diverted traffic for more than an hour to make sure there would be no problems with the power line. No chemicals were reported leaking from the vehicle.
